Committee Update Nov 2021

👸 Message from the President
Our Hunt for Red October Events were fairly well supported. We also completed an exercise in collaboration with our affiliate clubs this month. We are trying to align our session lengths, table fees, provision of tea and coffee, and most importantly, the reciprocal paying arrangements and associated fees. The results are being tabled at the committee meeting and will be available soon after.
Our most urgent need right now is to find people who are willing to be trained as directors and do the job. Please email me if you are interested.

Online Bridge
Our trial of two sessions on Wednesday nights has not received as much participation as we had hoped. The club has returned to one SUPERVISED session at 7:15pm on Wednesdays. If you have more than 30MPs you can join us, but preferably partnering a less experienced player. We now have a Thursday night OPEN session at 7:15pm for all players.

And please deposit monthly payments into our account for your games to reduce the bank transactions our Treasurer has to manage:

📣 Go for Gold!” Grand National Novice Pairs

*** Don’t miss this rare opportunity to earn Gold Points in a Novice field ***
On Wednesday 17 November at 7:15pm we will hold a qualifying game for the GNNP. This is only open to NOVICE players (less than 100MPs as at 30 June 2021) and will earn you Red Points.
Entry Fee: $10 per person, but dress to the Go for Gold! theme and you can win your entry fee back, or another fun prize.
For more information and key dates please check our Events page.

REGISTRATION: Please email Sandy Boyd to register your pair.

Tournaments & Teams Events

The Parramatta Congress has been cancelled due to a National Gold tournament running at the same time.

The committee has decided to run our Christmas Party on Saturday 18th December as a Teams event on RealBridge. More details will be published soon.

Re-Opening Survey Results

We had 58 responses to our re-opening survey and 72% would like to return to F2F in January with a number of players requesting that we continue to offer online games.
There were no objections to the COVID regulations that we may need to comply with.
The Committee has decided that tea/coffee/catering will not be provided when we first return F2F.
All responses can be reviewed online: Survey Responses.

November Minutes from the Committee Meeting are now available online.
